πŸ‹ Lemon Hand Pies πŸ‹

Hey guys! Today we are back to baking. After finally getting the film for my camera, I took a couple pictures and they turned out pretty cool if I do say so myself. Anyways, we will be making... (πŸ₯ drumroll please πŸ₯)

Lemon Hand Pies!

Now, you might be saying "Lemon what now?" Lemon hand pies are these super cute little pies that are kind of like empanadas. Still don't get me? Here they are.

Don't they look soooo yummy?! They are actually pretty easy to make. Ok, now that you have seen them, you are probably dying for the recipe for these bad boys. Here you go!

First you need some pie crust. You can make your own, or use store bought like I am guilty of. Preheat the oven to 375 and cut the pie crust into little circles like this.

Take your lemon filling (I used this recipe from justapinch.com ) and scoop a little tiny bit into the pie crust.

Make sure you do not use too much or your hand pie will look like this:
Gross right? I mean obviously they still taste amazing, but they are not very appealing. Ooh, I almost forgot to tell you how to crimp the edges! Once you have the perfect amount of filling in the crust, you fold it in half.

Then you push down around the filling until you have a nice little pocket. Fold the edges over, and seal your hand pie.
If you want, you can also use the classic crimping method with a fork. Just don't fold the edges over and push a fork down until your hand pie is sealed.

Pop your hand pies in the oven for 10-12 minutes or until they are golden brown. Then you eat them up!

I hope you enjoy this recipe and the lemon hand pies! You could probably make these in any flavor. I might have to do that sometime, and when I do, I will tell you guys all about it. See you again later!

XOXO,
Alyssa
